XCOM 2 is the continuation of the beloved strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which received the title of “Game of the Year” in 2012.

The earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders signed an act of unconditional surrender to the aliens. XCOM, Earth´s last line of defense, has been destroyed and its remnants scattered throughout the world. In XCOM 2, aliens rule the planet, building it up with sparkling cities and promising humanity a cloudless future. However, the aliens are secretly hatching sinister plans and destroying everyone who refuses to live by the new rules.

Only those who live on the outskirts of the new world retained the remnants of freedom. They are gathering strength to repel the invaders. Forced to constantly hide from an enemy superior in strength, former XCOM agents are trying to revive their organization, expose the invaders and destroy them once and for all.

XCOM UNDERGROUND: Become captain of the Avenger, an alien transport ship converted into XCOM´s mobile headquarters. The new open world of the game gives you the opportunity to choose where to strike next, how to enlist the support of the population and when to carry out special operations that disrupt the plans of Advent.
RECRUIT RESISTANCE FIGHTERS: Five classes of fighters, each with their own unique talent tree, allow you to create squads of soldiers whose skills best suit your tactical plans.
GUERILLA TACTICS: New game mechanics give you more freedom in battle. Use cover to ambush enemy patrols and loot battle trophies from the corpses of defeated enemies. Rescue VIPs and wounded comrades in arms, dragging them to the evacuation zone.
NEW GENERATION OF ENEMIES: A variety of enemies, from new advanced alien species to the military ADVENT, the watchdogs of the new regime, create tactical diversity on the battlefield.
RESEARCH, MANUFACTURE AND UPGRADE: Design and build compartments aboard the Avenger to gain dominance on the battlefield. Use scientists and engineers to research, create and improve weapons and armor that best suit your fighting style.
EACH MISSION IS UNIQUE: Embark on missions around the world - from the wilds to the heart of alien-controlled cities and the depths of enemy complexes. An almost endless variety of combinations of cards, tasks and goals await you.
CREATE YOUR OWN MODIFICATIONS: In-game tools allow players to create their own campaigns, tactical and strategic gameplay features, aliens and new fighter classes, and then share them with the gaming community through the Steam Workshop.
